The flight was scheduled to last approximately 5 1/2 hours since we were heading into the jet stream. I had the good fortune of reserving a window seat so was treated to a pleasant view whenever the cloud base didn't block things. Unfortunately, the clouds did not block my view of the inflight movie... "The Count of Monte Cristo". However, I did learn that instead of paying the 5 dollar fee to rent headsets to listen to the movie, you can pretend to be listening to your CD player, but actually plug your earphones into the audio receiver for the movie. They are none the wiser. :^) Besides, it made up for not having a meal served in-flight. (Cheapskates!) About 45 minutes from Vegas the pilot announced that we were approaching the Grand Canyon, thus the first photo on top of this page. You can kinda see it winding through the middle, but the wispy clouds blocked some of the detail. To be honest, I was a little less than impressed. Oh well. A few minutes later I saw this wonderous cacophony of color and texture below us and I felt the need to capture it as well. This is definitely *not* something you see in Boston, or New England.
